Can’d Aid provides thousands of bikes, boards, instruments, art kits

LONGMONT — Can’d Aid, a nonprofit partner of Longmont-based Oskar Blues Brewery, donated 2,600 bikes and skateboards and 1,000 instruments and art kits to kids across the country in 2024.

“With the help of our volunteers and partners, we’ve been able to get 20,000 kids on wheels, and this year was one of the most impactful,” Can’d Aid executive director Diana Hicks said in a prepared statement. “Every bike and skateboard is built by a local volunteer, giving them a unique opportunity to meet their neighbors and work toward a common goal.”

Can’d Aid also reached a $1.6 million fundraising milestone this year for the Berthoud Adaptive Park Program, which will be that community’s first public playground for kids and parents of all abilities.

“Everybody has the power to give back and do good,” Hicks said in a statement. “And we are proud to work with volunteers all over the country to help them embrace that power. Whether your passion is music, skateboarding, the arts or the outdoors, we connect people in fun and impactful ways that allow them to give back to their communities by doing what they love.”
