Citizen group takes aim at downtown Greeley hotel project

Not everyone, apparently, is excited about the public-private partnership that aims to bring a new hotel and conference center to downtown Greeley.

The Greeley Tribune reports that a citizen group called Stop Taxes on Private Projects have filed for a referendum that they hope will cause a roadblock for the project. The group is citing several complaints about the project, including a lack of transparency in the project’s planning process and the use of city funds to help pay for the project.
