Greeley applying for $2M state grant to speed City Center project

A $2 million grant from the state aimed at helping areas impacted by oil and gas development could help the city of Greeley speed up development of its new city hall complex.

The Greeley Tribune reports that the city is applying for the State Energy Impact Assistance Fund grant, arguing that “the variability in oil and gas revenue could cut down on the city’s budget, and that could hinder the City Center project.” As the city aims to consolidate all of its offices into one location, the grant would help the city include more aspects of the project into the first phase. The city expects a decision on the grant by August.
