Blue FCU buys Sport Stable naming rights a month after Budweiser Events Center deal

SUPERIOR — The name Blue Federal Credit Union is soon to become much more conspicuous in the Boulder Valley and Northern Colorado.

Less than a month after the Cheyenne-based institution inked a naming rights deal at Loveland’s Budweiser Events Center (soon to be called Blue Arena), Blue FCU has completed a similar agreement with the Sport Stable in Superior.

The Sport Stable, a 186,000-square-foot facility that features two NHL-sized ice rinks, one small ice rink, two half-size turf fields, three multi-use basketball/pickleball courts, three batting cages, two weight rooms and a CrossFit area, is now dubbed the Blue Sport Stable.

Terms of the deal were not immediately available Friday.

New building signage is expected to be installed this spring, with interior rebranding complete by the end of the year.

“As a community connector, we’re thrilled to have secured exclusive naming rights to the Sport Stable,” Blue Federal Credit Union CEO Stephanie Teubner said in a prepared statement. “Blue has been a champion of the Boulder metro community for many years, and we’re proud to be a copilot in this new, exciting partnership. Along with the coming addition of a Blue branch located minutes away in the Superior Marketplace, we see the Blue Sport Stable and new branch not only serving as community gathering spaces but also as drivers to help the Superior community reach its full potential.”

In January, the Larimer County Board of Commissioners approved a 10-year, $7.5 million contract that will result in the 7,200 seat Budweiser Events Center multi-purpose venue carrying the Blue name beginning this fall.

As part of the deal, Blue will have the exclusive designation as the “The Official & Exclusive Credit Union of the Colorado Eagles,” according to county documents, and will be permitted to erect a branded 12-foot-by-36-foot marquee outside the venue, along with other signage and branding throughout the interior and exterior.

Blue has had a relationship with the Budweiser Events Center since 2019, when the credit union bought naming rights to the guest services ticketing office and The Ranch Bar & Grill, which were afterward dubbed the Blue Federal Credit Union Guest Services and Blue Bar & Grill.
