Petty named director of Colorado Dept. of Ag’s new lab division

BROOMFIELD — Colorado’s Commissioner of Agriculture Don Brown announced Monday that Eric Petty will serve as director for the newly formed Division of Laboratory Services at the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

Three laboratory services — biochemistry, metrology and animal health — have been folded into the Division of Laboratory Services, which is housed at a new facility in Broomfield.

Petty, a chemist and former Department of Agriculture employee, is currently the chemistry program manager at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. He will take on his new role Jan. 14.
