Broncos, Empower Retirement reach Mile High naming rights agreement

DENVER — The Denver Broncos and Greenwood Village-based retirement plan provider Empower Retirement have reached a 21-year agreement to name the team’s stadium Empower Field at Mile High.

Financial terms of the deal, which is in place through the 2039 season and is pending approval by the Metropolitan Football Stadium District, were not immediately disclosed.

Empower is a subsidiary of Great–West Life & Annuity Insurance Co. The firm administers $638 billion in assets for 9.2 million retirement plan participants and more than 38,000 organizations.

“We are proud to reach an agreement on a long-term naming rights deal between the Broncos and Empower Retirement,” Broncos president and CEO Joe Ellis said in a prepared statement. “Empower is a thriving—and growing—hometown company that has been a valued team partner since our Super Bowl season in 2015. Most importantly, we’ve enjoyed a genuine working relationship with Empower for a number of years because it is simply great at what it does.”
