Jessup Farm drive benefits nonprofits

FORT COLLINS — Throughout August, Jessup Farm Artisan Village is recognizing Kindness Matters Month by raising money for Project Self-Sufficiency of Northern Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program.

“Kindness Matters Month is a reminder that even the simplest acts of generosity can have a lasting impact,” Carly Lynch, marketing liaison for Jessup Farm Artisan Village, said in a written statement. “Our community is incredibly compassionate, and we’re proud to bring people together to support two organizations that make Northern Colorado a better place every day.”

Through Aug.  31, visitors can bring much-needed supplies to support the missions of the two nonprofits.

For more than 40 years, Project Self-Sufficiency has helped low-income single parents throughout Larimer and Weld counties build brighter futures through education, career training, personalized advising and family support services.

Jessup Farm is collecting hygiene products that many families use every day but can be difficult to afford, including laundry detergent, diapers, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, feminine hygiene products and dish soap.

Jessup Farm also is supporting the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program, a Fort Collins nonprofit that has spent nearly four decades rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured and orphaned birds of prey. Each year, the organization cares for more than 300 raptors and successfully releases approximately 75% of treatable birds back into the wild. They also educate thousands of community members through school visits, public programs, and outreach events featuring their ambassador birds.

During Kindness Matters Month, visitors can help stock some of the organization’s most-needed items, including unscented laundry bleach, unscented liquid laundry detergent, nitrile gloves, paper towels and disinfecting wipes.
