BBB names Spark Award winners for 2019

LOVELAND — Four businesses from Northern Colorado were honored as the second class of BBB Spark Award for Entrepreneurship winners at the 2019 BBB Torch Awards for Ethics celebration Thursday at the Embassy Suites in Loveland.

The program is part of the BBB Foundation Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming. The awards ceremony also included recognition of this year’s four Torch Awards for Ethics winners.

The Spark Award for Entrepreneurship is open to businesses between six months and three years old. Businesses must be in good standing with the BBB, and the eight nominees were judged by an independent panel based on three criteria:

  • Character: Leaders must be teachable and open to growing with ideas.
  • Culture: Purposeful teams have clear visions while being honest and transparent with their members.
  • Community: Admirable entrepreneurial organizations show appreciation for their communities by enthusiastically giving back.

Nominees submitted a written application as well as a short video outlining how their organization demonstrates the three principles.

This year’s Spark Award winners are:

  • Blue River Vision, Silverthorne
  • Career Allies, Fort Collins
  • Define the Line, Fort Collins
  • Zova Marketing, Greeley

“This year’s class of Spark Award winners come from across our service territory in Colorado and cover a range of industries from vision care to HR consulting to digital marketing,” said BBB president and CEO Pam King. “But what they all have in common is that each was started with a foundation of ethical leadership, a vision of a culture that promotes trust, and a sense of duty to service the communities that support them. We look forward to seeing these businesses continue to thrive and potentially compete for the Torch Award for Ethics in the future.”
