Zipcar launches car-sharing service in Fort Collins
FORT COLLINS – Car-sharing company Zipcar announced on Monday that it has expanded into Fort Collins with a six-car fleet.
Zipcar, a subsidiary of Avis Budget Group Inc., allows members to reserve cars via mobile app for hourly or daily use.
The Fort Collins launch of the service builds on a program in the Denver metro area where the company has more than 70 cars in service. The Denver footprint includes Boulder.

The new Fort Collins fleet will feature a range of car models, from a Volkswagen Golf to a Honda Civic to a Subaru Crosstrek. The cars will be accessible at various locations in town, including Old Town, City Hall and the Colorado State University campus.
Monthly driving plans on the Zipcar platform start at $7 per month in Fort Collins, with driving rates starting at $8.50 per hour and $69 per day, according to the company’s website.
The company’s Zipcar for Business program offers discounted driving rates for businesses Monday through Friday.
