State’s first oil and gas comprehensive area plan approved

Kerr-McGee has received approval for the state’s first oil and gas comprehensive area plan, paving the way for the company to drill more than 200 wells in eastern Weld County, the Colorado Sun reports.

Comprehensive area plans are now mandated by the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission to help protect public health and safety.
