Boulder County unveils plans to relieve Arapahoe Road congestion

BOULDER — County transportation officials have plans to add lanes to relieve congestion on Arapahoe Road.

Although the overhaul wouldn’t begin until the mid-2020s, the plan is to improve the thoroughfare, specifically the section from 75th Street to U.S. 287 that makes commuting between Boulder and Lafayette far more difficult, the Daily Camera reports.

The plan would widen the intersections and add a new lane in each direction. Another option could be to add a bus rapid transit system longer term.
