UNC raises $6.3M in private funds for Campus Commons project

GREELEY — The University of Northern Colorado on Thursday said it has raised $6.3 million in private funding — the midway point in its goal of $12 million — that will go toward the $73.6 million Campus Commons project, a student support and welcome center.

The university is holding a ground-breaking ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the site of the new building in the southwest parking area of the University Center, near the intersection of 11th Avenue and 22nd Street in Greeley.

Private donors so far include Bob and Betty Tointon,  the Boettcher Foundation, The Griffin Foundation, UNC graduate Dick Monfort, Bob and Bonnie Phelps, the Salazar Family Foundation, Kevin and Anne Ahern, Brandon and Donna Barnholt, the Clarence V. LaGuardia Foundation, Darwin  and Helen  Dalzell, the estate of Thomas Ediger, Tom and Nona Gordon, Kay and Tom Norton, Frank and Betty Ottesen, the Richardson family, the estate of Peggy Sumrow-Davis, UCHealth, Robbyn Wacker and Jani Malkiewicz .
