Colorado certifies single-payer health-care initiative for 2016 ballot

The Denver Post reports that the Colorado Secretary of State on Monday certified that supporters of “ColoradoCare” had gathered enough valid signatures to place Initiative 20, “State Health Care System,” on next November’s ballot. If passed, the $25 billion plan would be paid for through a 10 percent payroll tax — two-thirds paid by employers and one-third paid by employees — and cover any Colorado resident who earns income.
