Road 34 owners lease space for new brewery

FORT COLLINS – The owners of the Road 34 bike shop and tavern have leased 3,345 square feet of space at 829 S. Shields St. where they intend to open a new craft brewery and taproom.

The building, across the street from Colorado State University’s Moby Arena, is the former longtime home of Big Dog Textbooks. And it’s just down the street from Road 34.

Cobey Wess of Sperry Van Ness/The Group Commercial represented both the landlord and tenant in the new lease deal.

Road 34 owner Will Overbagh, reached by email Monday, declined to comment on the project until more details are worked out.

Wess said there is still plenty of buildout to do on the space and that the owners could shoot to open as early as May.

The Road 34 bike shop opened in 2003 at 1205 W. Elizabeth St. before moving next door to 1213 W. Elizabeth, its current location, in late 2005. The tavern opened there a few months later in April 2006.
