Rock Bottom nears rock bottom

Loveland now the sole Colorado outpost for brewery chain

Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery has unceremoniously shuttered its Centennial and Highlands Ranch locations, according to recent media reports, leaving the chain’s Loveland outpost its sole remaining Colorado location.

The recent closures in the south Denver metro area come just months after Rock Bottom ceased operations at its Colorado Springs and Denver breweries.

Rock Bottom was founded by the late Boulder restaurateur Frank Day in 1991 but has gone through various ownership changes over the years. California-based Kelly Cos. purchased the brand from Houston-based SPB Hospitality in December 2024, along with Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant, Chophouse & Brewery, Ragtime Tavern and Seven Bridges Grille & Brewery. The Gordon Biersch location in Broomfield closed at the time of the sale.
