Bank branch offers gifts to first customers

LAFAYETTE – Home State Bank plans to woo its new customers in Lafayette with gifts – a Kindle Fire tablet or a Keurig coffee maker.

The Loveland-based bank will open its newest branch at 565 W. South Boulder Road on Monday, Feb. 25. Customers opening the first 100 new bank accounts can choose either the Kindle or Keurig on the spot, said Jack Devereaux, the bank’s chairman.

Five employees will staff the new location, with another two joining soon, Devereux said. The bank plans to hold a formal grand opening on Friday, April 5, he said.
