Nutrition advice
Let alone a legal nightmare, I have absolutely none of the expertise to properly instruct people on what they should eat to get the best performance on the bike. Besides, do you really want to be taking dietary cues from a guy who refuses to give up beer and pizza?
Training advice
Again, I don’t have the credentials to give this kind of advice. However, in my opinion, there is only one training tip you really need and it comes from five-time Tour de France winner Eddy Merckx – “Ride lots.”
Components
I’ve never been the guy that drools over carbon fiber bike stems that weigh 100 grams or bottom brackets as stiff as steel and I’m not going to start now. Bike magazines have this topic sufficiently covered anyway.
Specialized
I ride a 2005 Specialized Roubaix. That sentence is my only endorsement of Specialized. I’m loyal to the brand, but this blog isn’t a commercial. Besides, I honestly believe the powerplant (the person pedaling) makes the difference and not the brand of machine whether it’s Trek, Giant, Cervelo, Kona, Marin, Orbea and Fuji. There, I mentioned all the big brands, everyone is happy.
