Work underway in Loveland for Schmer Farm Marketplace
LOVELAND — Evergreen Development, a regional commercial real estate developer, and the Schmer family Wednesday broke ground for Schmer Farm Marketplace, a 29-acre shopping center at the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 34 and Rocky Mountain Avenue in Loveland.
The development will be anchored by a 122,000-square-foot King Soopers grocery store and fuel center.
“Schmer Farm Marketplace is the result of a true partnership,” Evergreen CEO Tyler Carlson said in a prepared statement. “The Schmer family shared a vision for creating something meaningful for the community, and together we’ve assembled a project in partnership with King Soopers that combines quality retail, significant infrastructure investment and long-term economic benefits for Loveland. We’re excited to begin construction and continue bringing this vision to life.”
The Schmer family partnered with Evergreen to transform a family-owned and operated farm into a community-focused retail destination while preserving the legacy of the land and its connection to Loveland’s history.
“For our family, this project represents a 14-year journey that involved three generations working together to bring King Soopers to this property,” Tané Leach and Tara Rowe said in a statement on behalf of the Schmer family.
Sitework is underway, and key infrastructure improvements supporting the project are also advancing through partnerships with the city and neighboring developers ahead of the center’s anticipated opening in late 2027.
In addition to King Soopers, Evergreen has signed leases with Chase Bank and Black Rock Coffee Bar, which are working through site planning and due-diligence activities. It also is finalizing negotiations and agreements with prospective retailers and restaurants for the remaining pad sites and the planned 8,500-square-foot multi-tenant retail building.
