Loveland Habitat opens homeownership application cycle

LOVELAND — Loveland Habitat for Humanity has opened its latest homeownership application cycle for qualifying individuals and families through March 31.

The organization partners with local residents to help them build and purchase safe, stable homes with mortgages at 0% interest.

Program qualifications include:

• Residency/employment: Applicants must live or work in Loveland for at least one year prior to applying.

• Housing need: Examples include overcrowded or unsafe housing, paying more than 40% of income toward rent, or receiving subsidized housing or Section 8 vouchers.

• Willingness to partner: Applicants must attend educational and financial classes and complete 200 sweat-equity hours per adult.

• Ability to pay: Applicants must fall within 40% to 80% of Area Median Income guidelines, have no bankruptcy in the past two years, and no foreclosure in the past three years.

Application packets can be accessed online for applicants to print and are also available at the Loveland Habitat Administrative Office, 108 W. 29th St., Unit D. Completed packets may be returned Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the same location or after hours by appointment.
