Collegiate Peaks Bank plants flag in Fort Collins
FORT COLLINS — Collegiate Peaks Bank, a division of Kalispell, Montana-based Glacier Bancorp, recently opened its first Fort Collins branch at 1130 Haxton Drive.
Located southeast of the intersection of Harmony Road and Lemay Avenue, the 8,728-square-foot building was built in 1994 and had been home to a KeyBank branch before it closed in 2024. Collegiate Peaks purchased the property last March.
Collegiate Peaks telegraphed its intent to enter the Fort Collins market with the establishment of a loan-production office in June 2023.
David Fritzler, Northern Colorado regional president for Collegiate Peaks, said in a statement that the bank is “committed to establishing a permanent home” in Northern Colorado. “Combined with our longstanding presence in Denver, southern Colorado, and the mountain communities, our new location provides the opportunity to serve customers from Colorado Springs all the way to Wyoming.”
The institution recently surpassed $1 billion in total assets. Collegiate Peaks’s parent Glacier Bancorp operates in 156 communities in Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Washington and Wyoming, and is expanding into Texas through its acquisition of Guaranty Bancshares Inc.
Collegiate Peaks Bank was founded in the mid-1980s in Buena Vista, drawing its name from the mountain range just to the west of the Chaffee County town, and also has branches in Denver, Colorado Springs and Salida. The bank was acquired by Glacier Bancorp Inc. in 2018.
