Union Pacific’s Big Boy coming to Northern Colorado next week
Union Pacific Railroad’s iconic Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, will make whistle-stops in Greeley and Eaton next week.
The Big Boy will depart Cheyenne at 11 a.m. on Sept. 30 and arrive in Greeley at 12:45 p.m., and on Oct. 1 the train will make a stop in Eaton at 12:30 p.m.
“The Big Boy not only represents Union Pacific Railroad’s rich history, it symbolizes who we are as a railroad – built on strength, innovation and grit,” UP CEO Jim Vena said in a prepared statement. “It’s an important connector among our communities, customers and employees that serves as a rolling reminder of railroads’ historic role driving our nation’s growth.”
