Sierra Space harnesses NVIDIA tech to predict behavior of space debris

LOUISVILLE — Sierra Space Corp. has teamed up with tech giant NVIDIA Corp (Nasdaq: NVDA) to develop a system for predicting future locations of space debris.

The new technology uses physics-informed neural networks, or PINNs, to model and predict the behavior of debris as it orbits bodies in space, SSC said in a news release, allowing “for more accurate predictions of future locations and potential intersections with operational spacecraft.”

SSC’s platform is powered by NVIDIA artificial intelligence and accelerated computing technology.
