Flood & Peterson adds Greenwood Village insurance group

GREELEY — Flood & Peterson Insurance Inc., with offices in Greeley, Fort Collins and Denver, has added additional expertise in the area of nonprofit and human services organizations with the purchase of Centerpoint Insurance Group.

Centerpoint Insurance Group and its subsidiary Care Association, based in Greenwood Village, have joined the Flood and Peterson company effective April 1. Flood and Peterson will retain all of Centerpoint’s staff and keep its office, which is six miles from its Denver location. 

“Our consultative approach requires our team to have deep expertise in the challenges our clients may face,” Royal Lovell, chairman and CEO of Flood and Peterson, said in a written statement. “By combining our team’s expertise with that of Centerpoint Insurance Group, we are strengthening our ability to provide insurance solutions to all clients, including industries and lines of business with unique or complex needs.”

Flood and Peterson was founded in 1939 and provides customized insurance solutions to a variety of industries. Centerpoint was founded in 2007 and provides insurance to nonprofit and human services organizations.

Michael Simms, Centerpoint’s founder, is also the founder of the Care Association, an organization that provides affordable insurance protection to individual care providers for the developmentally disabled. 

“We believe that our organizations will be stronger together,” Lovell said. “Both bring positive attributes to the table that will create opportunities for growth, and our like-minded cultures and shared values ensure that our clients will continue to receive the level of service and partnership they have come to expect.” 

Simms, along with his staff, will continue with the organization working within their specialty.
