Wilson Sonsini adds life-sciences partner to Boulder office
BOULDER — Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, a California-based law firm that opened a Boulder office in February, has named William Barrett as a partner in the Boulder office.
The Boulder office was established to support the growing life-sciences sector. Barrett joins the firm’s patents and innovations department. His experience includes legal work for three biotechnology companies — Nobex, Grail and Illumina. He also founded IP boutique TechNomos.
Barrett is the second partner to join Wilson Sonsini’s Boulder office in the past six weeks. In mid-June, Brent Fassett joined the office as a partner in the corporate department.

In 2019, Barrett founded Colorado-based TechNomos, a boutique technology and innovation protection law firm. While at Grail, Barrett led legal and IP diligence for Grail’s $1.2 billion Series B financing round, as well as its 2017 merger with Hong Kong-based Cirina. “Since I’ve been in the life sciences field for some time, I’ve had the chance to collaborate with so many exceptional attorneys at Wilson Sonsini,” Barrett said in a written statement. “I’m excited about the opportunity to continue working with innovative life sciences clients and collaborating with the team in Boulder to help the firm expand its client base in Colorado and other life sciences markets.”
