PA hospital exec named Banner’s NoCo CEO

GREELEY —  Ronald Andro, an executive at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will soon be Banner Health’s new CEO of Northern Colorado operations. 

He will take over for interim CEO Wendy Sparks, who will resume her prior role as Banner Northern Colorado chief operating officer, starting April 12, according to a Banner news release. 

Banner Health operates at more than 20 locations in Northern Colorado, including major hospitals Banner Fort Collins Medical Center, McKee Medical Center in Loveland and North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.

Andro has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota; a master’s in health systems management from Rush University in Chicago; and a master’s degree in human environmental sciences with a concentration in negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. 

His experience includes roles as surgical services administrator at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago; administrative director at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire; director of perioperative services at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois; vice president of operations at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh; senior vice president and chief operating officer at the University of Maryland in Baltimore and Washington Medical Center in Baltimore; and chief operating officer at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, according to the release.
