Employers are required under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act to post notices under certain circumstances. More than 45,000 Colorado workers have filed for unemployment as a result of efforts to contain the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Layoffs announced in Larimer, Weld, Boulder and Broomfield counties by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment Monday include:

Embassy Suites & Hilton Garden Inn, Boulder — The twin hotels at 2601 Canyon Blvd., both operated by Sage Hospitality, said they would temporarily lay off at least 126 employees in management, food service and front desk roles.

Sage Hotel Management, a division of Sage Hospitality Resources Inc. and owner of the Boulder hotels, also laid off 111 people working at the Elizabeth Hotel in Fort Collins. The notice about the Elizabeth was posted over the weekend.

Stevinson Lexus, Frederick — The auto dealer at the Weld-Boulder County line said it would lay off staff over several waves, starting with 34 on Monday. Eleven of those layoffs are sales staff. A “significant portion” of the layoffs are expected to be permanent. Stevinson, which operates multiple dealerships in the metropolitan Denver area, also laid off 302 workers at those metro locations.
