Good Day Pharmacy wins industry award for community program

LOVELAND — Good Day Pharmacy has earned the National Community Pharmacists Association’s Innovation Center Excellence, or NICE, Award for Best Customer Convenience Improvement.

It was the first year for the competition, made to acknowledge pharmacies for their efforts to better serve their community. Loveland-based Good Day Pharmacy was recognized for a program they started in 2014 to assist women one-on-one with breast prosthesis fitting. The pharmacy said it started the program after analyzing the region’s offerings and realizing many mastectomy patients either had to drive hours or order online, without custom consultations prior to buying. In response, Good Day launched the Good Day Breast Care Center.

“Congratulations to Good Day Pharmacy and its president and COO Vicki Einhellig for earning the NICE Award for Best Customer Convenience Improvement thanks to their extraordinary work in helping women going through the battle of breast cancer,” Kurt Proctor, president of the NCPA Innovation Center, said in a prepared statement.

Good Day has brought on certified fitters from Amoena USA to assist more than 120 women from Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas and Nebraska with personalized fitting services. The pharmacy also offers post-surgery tops and bras, warm hats and scarves and insurance claim filing, among other services to aid breast cancer patients and raise awareness.
