Hanson, Karakehian sharing Boulder Chamber’s top honor

BOULDER — The Boulder Chamber unveiled the winners of its annual Celebration of Leadership awards, with city of Boulder economic vitality coordinator Liz Hanson and former city council member George Karakehian sharing the top honor.

The Celebration of Leadership event will be held March 2 at the Dairy Center for the Arts.

Hanson and Karakehian, owner of Art Source International, will receive the Franny Reich Local Business Hero Award. Hanson is being recognized, according to a release from the Chamber, for “serving the community with distinction as a front-line partner in supporting local business success and a champion for the programs that sustain Boulder’s economic vitality.” Karakehian, meanwhile, his being honored for his “contributions to the Boulder community as a successful businessman combined with a dedication to public service and non-profit leadership.

Community Leadership Award: Ken Hotard, senior vice president of public affairs, Boulder Area Realtors Association; and Will Toor, commissioner, Colorado Air Quality Control.

Chamber Champion Award: Diana Rands, owner, Chill Digital Marketing.
