Ski season to open early on Aspen Mountain

Aspen Skiing Co. officials have announced that ski season at Aspen Mountain will start early in the wake of recent snowfall.

The Aspen Times reports that three chairlifts and more than 100 acres will open for a preview on Saturday and Sunday. The ski area will close Monday and then reopen for the season Nov. 21. Snowmass will also open Nov. 21. Both ski areas were scheduled to open Thanksgiving Day.
