Soccer site The18.com raises $1M seed round

BOULDER – Owners of The18.com, a Boulder-based website covering a wide array of soccer-related topics, announced this week that they’ve closed on a $1 million round of seed funding.

The capital, the owners hope, will help them continue developing features on the site, increase marketing efforts and add a couple of full-time staff members.

The cash infusion comes from mostly friends and family, though the company is aiming to raise a larger Series A round from the venture capital community by the end of next summer.
