City, county seek partners in developing downtown Longmont parking garage
The city of Longmont this week put out “a request for expression of interest” to developers interested in partnering on development of a piece of land on Coffman Street with a stipulation being that the project would include a parking garage with at least 200 spaces.
The Times-Call reports that the city is partnering with Boulder County and the Longmont Downtown Development Authority on the request for the 500 block of Coffman on property that is now being used as two surface parking lots. The request is an attempt to alleviate some of the parking issues downtown, but the paper noted that the partners are also looking for 10,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space as well as upper-floor offices or condominiums.
