Lockheed Martin announces 270 layoffs in Colorado Springs
Lockheed Martin Corp. announced plans to lay off as many as 270 employees in Colorado Springs after losing out on a $700 million contract to Raytheon Co.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports that the company sent out notices to employees last week as required by the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, though company officials told the paper it doesn’t expect all to lose their jobs. The layoffs would occur in September.
