Coloradoan cuts four editorial staffers
FORT COLLINS – Four people have lost their jobs at The Coloradoan as the newspaper’s owner, Gannet Co. Inc. (NYSE: GCI), contends with workforce reductions.
The Coloradoan’s executive editor Lauren Gustus has declined to characterize the situation as “layoffs,” but she confirmed that on Monday the daily newspaper “did not offer four people new positions in the newsroom.”
The Coloradoan had asked editorial employees to reapply for their jobs earlier this year. The four people – an arts and entertainment editor, a photographer and two copy editors – did not receive job offers, according to a newsroom source.
