New law provides credits for alternative-fuel trucks

DENVER – Gov. John Hickenlooper signed into law on Friday a bill that is intended to boost investments in low-emission and alternative fuel trucks.

HB14-1326, sponsored Colorado Rep. Dianne Primavera, D-Broomfield, creates a tax credit for businesses or individuals that purchase light-weight and commercial trucks that run on electricity, hydrogen, compressed natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas.

The bill also clarifies which vehicles are eligible for existing tax credits.
