Colorado Ag road show stops in Greeley

GREELEY – Choose Colorado, a tour of state agriculture proponents, visited Greeley Friday to celebrate locally-grown agricultural products, from sweet corn to steak.

Choose Colorado is a three-week statewide tour hosted by Colorado Proud, an arm of the Colorado Department of Agriculture that helps identify those products grown in Colorado in grocery stores.

The purpose of the tour is to drive home the impact of agriculture on the state economy.

Agriculture generates more than 170,000 jobs in Colorado and contributes more than $40 billion to the state economy, according to Ron Carleton, deputy commissioner of agriculture for Colorado, who spoke at the tour stop.

The tour will end at the Colorado State Fair in Pueblo later this month.
