Gaiam contracts to distribute film ‘I am’
LOUISVILLE – Gaiam Inc. (Nasdaq: GAIA), a Louisville-based producer and marketer of lifestyle media and fitness accessories, has signed an agreement with Shady Acres Entertainment to distribute the film “I Am” on DVD and through digital platforms.
The documentary is based on the struggles of Tom Shadyac, an American comedian and screenwriter, after a concussion he experienced in a 2007 cycling accident. Shady Acres Entertainment is a motion picture and video tape production company based in Beverly Hills, California.
“This wonderful film takes an introspective look at how humans view the world and how we all share a role in making it a better place to live,´ said William S. Sondheim, president of Gaiam. “This is an eloquent example of how media can make a real difference.”
The 78-minute documentary will premiere on the Oprah Winfrey Network on New Year’s Day and will be available on DVD on Jan. 3.
