Eco-Thrift adds small appliance recycling

FORT COLLINS – Eco-Thrift announced it is expanding its recycling program to include small electrical appliances and metals.

For a nominal fee, Eco-Thrift will accept small household items such as toasters, hair dryers, alarm clocks and microwaves. “Basically, we’re offering residents and small businesses the chance to recycle anything that plugs into an electrical outlet,´ said Tony Cooper, Eco-Thrift owner. “This initiative represents our next phase of recycling for the Fort Collins community.”

Last year, Eco-Thrift assisted the community in recycling more than 11,000 pounds of electronic waste items, including TVs, VCRs and stereo systems.
