Twenty Ninth Street job fair draws hundreds of workers

Dozens of retail shops and restaurants opening at the Twenty Ninth Street retail district are bringing hundreds of new jobs with them.

The new open-air retail district that is replacing Crossroads Mall includes retailers as small as Yankee Candle and as large as Macy’s. By the time of its grand opening Oct. 13 about 1,000 full-time and part-time jobs will have been filled, according to spokeswoman Kerry Shelanksi.

To fill the positions, Lori Giggey, marketing manager for Twenty Ninth Street, organized a job fair and sent out 300,000 fliers to households in the Boulder and Denver area. On Aug. 26, about 30…
