PageMart Wireless enters local market with fast network

Northern Colorado has turned the page on another new telecommunications company. PageMart Wireless has entered the market with its guaranteed messaging and other advanced wireless operations.

The company has been in Colorado for five years, but the big change was in replacing the paging network with the high-speed two-way IP network.

“The new network costs 4.5 times more, but provides a variety of services,´ said John D. Beletic, chairman and chief executive officer of PageMart Wireless.

Commercial Solar is a big investment, but not an overwhelming one

Solar offers a significant economic benefit for commercial property owners while also positively impacting the environment and offering a path to compliance for new municipal requirements like Energize Denver. A local, experienced solar installer will help you navigate the complexities of commercial solar to achieve financial success for your project.

The Narrowband Personal Communications Services, also known as two-way messaging, enhances paging options. The shift in wireless messaging includes many advanced new services including the following:

” Confirmed delivery. Even when the pager is out of range or turned off, error-free messages are delivered.

” Response paging. Provides interpersonal messaging by allowing the recipient of the page to have preprogrammed responses. A two-way paging device or a computer equipped with paging software and a modem, Intenet, e-mail or a Web browser can send these messages.

” Two-way messaging. Allows the paging recipient to receive messages from people and applications and then send free-form text messages.

” Wireless modem. The two-way paging device enables messages to be sent and received from a portable computer away from a fixed modem.

“n Information on demand. Weather, sports, headline news, financial news and stock quotes can be delivered through the NCPS network.

To offer all of these new options, PageMart uses an advanced satellite-control system that replaced radio control links. Signals from pages are sent to satellites and beamed to every transmitter in the relevant area.

This technology allows PageMart to be the only company to offer these services on a local basis. It’s more economical to pay $9.95 for local coverage than $24.95 for nationwide coverage, Beletic said.

About four years ago, PageMart became one of the first wireless providers to offer pagers to national retailers. From the Arctic Circle to the Panama Canal, customers can receive pages on the same pager. PageMart products are sold nationwide, and the company’s clients now include Best Buy, Office Depot, Target Stores, J.C. Penney, Radio Shack and more.

In addition to Colorado, PageMart Wireless launched NPCS in Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Washington and Wyoming and several markets in Texas.

PageMart Wireless, a company started only nine years ago, serves more than 2.75 million people in the United States. Once the company has services in Venezuela and Peru, there will be 13 countries within the PageMart network.

Wireless messaging is a fast-growing segment of telecommunications. PageMart ranks as the sixth-largest wireless provider. By the end of 1998, PageMart hopes to extend messaging capabilities in major markets and upon completion hopes to provide the largest coverage in the country. Machines communicating with other machines through IP addresses is in the future, Beletic said. “It’s only a matter of time before we’re able to ask the status of appliances at home,” he said.
