Colorado offers $2M in grants for disability benefit applications assistance
DENVER — The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment’s recently formed Colorado Disability Opportunity Office has carved out $2 million to fund a new grant program aimed at helping nonprofit or local government organizations provide assistance to people applying for disability benefits.
“This grant opportunity reflects our Administration’s unwavering commitment to empowering Coloradans with disabilities to achieve independence and thrive,” Colorado Lt. Gov. Dianne Primavera said in a prepared statement. “We are excited to see the meaningful impact organizations across the state will make by streamlining the application process and expanding access to valuable programs.”
The grant program is funded through revenue paid to the state for certain special vehicle license plates.
