Learfied Sports manages multimedia rights for more than 50 colleges and institutions. Agresti has more than 20 years executive entrepreneurial experience in aviation, finance, management and law. Prior to joining Mountain Aviation as a captain last year, he served as both chief pilot and either manager or senior executive for a number of companies. He is an FAA licensed airline transport pilot and holds the National Business Aviation Association’s certified aviation manager designation. Mountain Aviation’s corporate headquarters is at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport near Broomfield. The aircraft-management and private jet-charter company has bases in Denver, Eagle/Vail, Aspen, Fort Collins, Telluride as well as Boise and Sun Valley, Idaho.

Loveland-based real estate, investment, management and development company McWhinney hired Taber Sweet as director of development. He will oversee the company’s development process in the Denver metro area. His responsibilities include procuring, evaluating and negotiating development opportunities. Taber also will execute development, options, leases and joint venture agreements to meet the needs of new customers and existing partners.
EDUCATION
IBMC College named Barbara Kearns regional director of regulatory affairs and compliance, serving its campuses in Fort Collins, Greeley and Longmont as well as Cheyenne, Wyoming. She joined IBMC College Fort Collins in August 2010 as campus director, then became president of the Longmont campus and accreditation and compliance director in 2012-13. Kearns has a master’s of education from Century University and a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
University of Colorado-Boulder appointed Carla Ho-a as assistant vice chancellor for administration auxiliaries and Melissa Zak as police chief for the University of Colorado Police Department. Ho-a, who joined the Boulder campus last March as director for administrative projects, will oversee Parking and Transportation Services, the CU Bookstore and Imaging Services. Zak, who came to CU-Boulder last July as the deputy police chief, is a 21-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department. She will oversee both police and emergency-management services.
University of Colorado-Boulder named Ryan Huff as spokesman and issues coordinator for the CU-Boulder campus, effective Jan. 21. Huff currently serves as the spokesman for the CU-Boulder Police Department and has nearly 15 years of combined journalism and media-management experience. Huff replaces Mark Miller, who took a spokesman job at Ozarks Technical Community College in Springfield, Missouri. Prior to joining CU in 2011, Huff was business editor and deputy news editor at the Boulder Daily Camera for three years. Huff recently was awarded one of two Colorado PIO of the Year Awards by the Emergency Services Public Information Officers of Colorado for public messaging work during the September floods. In 2006, he was on a Pulitzer Prize-winning team of journalists covering Hurricane Katrina for the Biloxi (Miss.) Sun-Herald.

Louisville-based Real Goods Solar Inc. elected Richard White and Ian Bowles to its board of directors. White has experience as a director and chairman of New York-based Mercury Solar System Inc.’s board of directors, managing director and head of the private equity and special investment department at Oppenheimer. Bowles served as secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs of Massachusetts, as well as on the White House staff for President Bill Clinton. He previously held the posts of senior director of global environmental affairs at the National Security Council and associate director of the White House Council on Environmental Quality.

Boulder County Commissioner Elise Jones was appointed treasurer of the Denver Regional Council of Governments’ board of directors. Jones joined the council’s board in January 2013.

Boulder-based software company RoundPegg Inc. hired David Lyon as vice president of sales. Lyon previously managed sales, marketing and account-management teams, while introducing new strategies to drive sales for several organizations. Justin Jenkins joined Boulder-based Caplan and Earnest LLC as an attorney, specializing in health-care law and civil litigation. Jenkins received his law degree from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law, where he graduated in the top 1 percent of his class. Jenkins worked as a law clerk for Caplan and Earnest prior to earning his degree. Prior to his legal career, he worked as a senior health-care consultant at Stockamp & Associates and a revenue-cycle analyst and process-improvement specialist at Kaiser Permanente. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado-Boulder.

First Nations Oweesta Corp., a subsidiary of Longmont-based First Nations Development Institute, hired Krystal Langholz and Evette Aragon as programs manager and administrative office manager, respectively. Langholz is overseeing the Financial Education and Asset-Building Program. Before joining Oweesta, Langholz was the founding executive director of Hunkpati Investments, a certified Native Community Development Financial Institution on the Crow Creek Indian Reservation. Aragon coordinates Oweesta’s meetings, serves as the organization’s main point of contact, and provides administrative support to the executive director and staff. She has more than eight years of experience in office management. Before joining Oweesta, Aragon was an executive assistant at Xcel Energy Inc. in Denver.
Suzy Gardner has been named director of development for the Emergency Family Assistance Association, effective Feb. 1. Previously, Garner was director of development at Boulder Valley Women’s Health Center, and prior to that worked for Ruekert-Hartman College for Health Professions at Regis University in Denver and Mental Health Partners, a Boulder-based organization. Gardner was instrumental in the start up of the nonprofit Collegiate Crossings. Gardner received a master’s degree in nonprofit management from Regis University in Denver.
Matt Eldred was named executive director of Longmont-based nonprofit TLC Learning Center, formerly Tiny Tim Learning Center. Eldred has more than 20 years of nonprofit experience, most recently heading The Acorn School for Early Childhood Development and Wilderness Early Learning Center, which provide early care and education programs and wrap around services for children and families in Boulder County. Eldred began his new position at TLC in November.
The I Have a Dream Foundation of Boulder County elected officers and new members to its board of directors. Sisk was appointed by the Boulder County commissioners to RTD’s board of directors in February 2013 to represent District O, which includes Boulder, Louisville, Superior, Lyons, Hygiene, Niwot, Gunbarrel as well as parts of Longmont southwest of Mountain View Avenue and Hover Street.
Boulder-based PeopleForBikes, formerly Bikes Belong, promoted Martha Roskowski to vice president of local innovation. Roskowski joined PeopleForBikes in January 2012 and led the launch of the Green Lane Project, which is spurring the development of protected bikeways in U.S. cities. Over the past two years, the number of separated and protected U.S. bike lanes has tripled from 50 to more than 150. Prior to working for PeopleForBikes, she was the founding executive director of Bicycle Colorado, worked as campaign director for America Bikes, and as director of GO Boulder, the city’s transportation program that focuses on transit, bicycling and walking.
