Johnstown doctor receives prestigious certification
JOHNSTOWN — A Johnstown chiropractor is one of only 60 people in the world to hold a certification in craniocervical junction procedures.
Jane Brewer, owner of Precision Chiropractic in Northern Colorado, received the Diplomate in Chiropractic Craniocervical Junction Procedures certification, which designates mastery in upper cervical treatment.
“This rare certification provides an even more prestigious focus to Dr. Jane’s practice, as she prides herself on discovering where the source of her patients’ pain comes from rather than covering it up with a temporary solution,” the clinic said in a press statement. “Some view a crack in the wall and throw putty in it; she sees the same crack and examines the foundation first before looking for any solutions. But, the foundation of the spine is not located at the bottom; it is at the very top. It is called the upper cervical spine, or the craniocervical junction.”

Misalignments at the junction of the head and neck can cause secondary conditions. Upper cervical chiropractors focus on correcting these misalignments, which can cause disruptions in central nervous system function.
“Rather than a traditional high-velocity manipulation, an upper cervical adjustment is applied with a highly-specialized instrument using a precise, controlled, and gentle touch. This allows the head, neck, and spine to return to their proper positions, restoring the body’s natural ability to adapt to stress, heal, and function optimally,” the press statement said.
“Once you know better, you do better. There aren’t many of us who do what I do, but when you discover a truth that can be part of the solution for pain and suffering, you cannot ignore that. That is why I focus on the upper cervical spine,” she said.
The new certification provides her a new lens through which to see and treat misalignments, she said.
Dr. Brewer graduated from Life University in Marietta, Georgia. She opened her Johnstown practice in 2015.
