Electrical wholesale distributor opens branch in Loveland
LOVELAND — Electrical wholesale distributor City Electric Supply Co. has opened its 19th Colorado location at 1082 N. Denver Ave. in Loveland.
After a six-month renovation process that began in early 2022, the nearly 8,000-square-foot location has become the largest CES store in Colorado. The building, which previously had housed a pet-food store and a mechanic shop, underwent a transformation with the removal of a partial wall, the addition of a full pipe yard on the side and the installation of customized racking inside the branch.
CES is a family-owned electrical wholesale distributor headquartered in Dallas. The company was founded in 1951 by Tom Mackie in the United Kingdom and expanded to the United States in 1983. Today, CES employs more than 3,000 people in more than 550 branches in 30 states. The new store can employ up to 10 people.

“Our ultimate goal here is to be able to service the people of Colorado, no matter the job size,” branch manager Winston Bollig said in a prepared statement. “My team and I hope our facility will allow this goal to be a reality. We came in with a vision, knowing what we wanted to do at the beginning of the remodel. Taking our time picking everything out, my team and I wanted to ensure everything was done right.”
Other CES branches in Northern Colorado and the Boulder Valley are at 2415 E. Mulberry St. in Fort Collins, 2990 W. 29th St. in Greeley, 795 S. Sherman St. in Longmont, 3245 Prairie Ave. in Boulder, 2380 W. Midway Blvd. in Broomfield and 736 Baseline Place in Brighton.
“A big part of opening this Loveland location was to allow our customers to reach us quicker, and in turn, we can help their job sites with ease,” said district manager Mike Jones. “This will be our first location in Loveland, and CES is thrilled to be here. This branch is situated right in the middle of town. It’s in a great spot for people heading any direction in and out of the area.”
Bollig, who was born and raised in the area, started working in the electrical industry while still in high school.
“I started working in a panel shop,” he said. “I just wanted a job, but it’s turned into a career. I started on the counter, learning different parts as I went. The sales aspect of the job came naturally after that, and I really enjoy the customer aspect of the industry.
“My dad has worked in the industry for 32 years,” Bollig said. “We worked in sales together for about a year, and it was really cool to learn beside him.”
Bolling said he is looking forward to developing his own team and helping it reach its greatest potential.
“I enjoy getting to work in this location with CES,” he said. “I get to grow and help out my own team, and I’m excited to see where this branch goes in the next few years.”
