Longmont gig-Internet signups exceed estimates
LONGMONT — So far, 54 percent of Longmont residents and businesses in areas with NextLight municipal broadband have signed up for the city service.
That signup rate exceeds city expectations of 37 percent signup for the gigabit per second Internet, according to a report in the Longmont Times-Call.
Private Internet service providers have begun mounting marketing campaigns or reduced rates in order to compete against the city utility, according to the report.
