Westerra names Champion as new president, CEO
DENVER — Jay Champion, who previously served as chief operations officer for Boulder-based Elevations Credit Union, has been named president and CEO of Westerra Credit Union, based in Denver. He will assume his new role, Dec. 1, succeeding the retiring John McCoy.
Champion oversaw lending operations at Elevations — including commercial, consumer and
mortgage lending programs — and directing retail delivery channels, including all branches and the contact center. He was also responsible for governmental affairs and marketing, focusing on building relationships and brand awareness for the credit union with current and prospective members.

Champion brings more than 30 years of lending and financial-services experience to the role.

McCloy has served the financial services industry in leadership roles for more than 40 years.
Westerra holds more than $1.5 billion in assets and serves 124,000 members through its branch locations across the Denver area.
