Woodward’s new home on the rise
Mortenson Construction Co. is planning a “community outreach event” to show off its progress on building Woodward Inc.’s 101-acre corporate campus.
Woodward, which has operated in Fort Collins since the 1950s, is moving to the site near Mulberry Street and Lemay Avenue from its current headquarters just to the south on Drake Road west of Lemay.

Woodward makes energy and aerospace control systems. It employs 1,200 in Fort Collins and Loveland and expects to employ about 1,700 locally when the project is complete. The redevelopment is expected to create about 1,800 construction jobs.
Construction will proceed in phases to ultimately result in two manufacturing facilities with associated offices, one energy technology test building, one three-story headquarters office building, a cafeteria and a process support building.
Project plans show a total of 944,000 square feet on the golf course property, with 871,000 of that eventually occupied by Woodward. The remaining space will be mixed-use commercial.
The event will include a 30-minute presentation and networking. Mortenson will provide barbecue and refreshments for those attending. For more information, contact Debbie Price at debbie.price@mortenson.com.
