Shake Shack moves up Fort Collins opening date

FORT COLLINS — Shake Shack just can’t wait to open its first Northern Colorado location. The chain announced Friday that it would unveil its eatery in Fort Collins’ Foothills shopping district next Wednesday — four days earlier than it previously expected.

The new location at 3400 S. College Ave. will be open from 10 a.m. until midnight Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday, offering items such as ShackBurgers, crinkle-cut fries and hand-spun shakes as well as limited-edition menu items throughout the year.

On opening day, after the restaurant’s 9:30 a.m. ribbon-cutting, the first wave of guests will receive branded tote bags. As part of its “Stand for Something Good” campaign, Shake Shack will donate $1 for every sandwich sold at the Fort Collins Shack that day to the Food Bank for Larimer County, supporting its work to provide food to all in need through community partnerships and hunger-relief programs. The restaurant also will collect non-perishable food donations on opening day.

Shake Shack, a fast-casual concept, launched in New York in 2003 and has rapidly expanded to more than 100 locations around the country.

The Fort Collins location will be Shake Shack’s second in the Boulder Valley and Northern Colorado regions. The Shake Shake in Boulder, which opened in 2021, was the first outside of the Denver metro area.
