Erie launches micro-transit service

ERIE — A free micro-transit service, the Erie Bee, has been launched by the Town of Erie.

Part of the Community Transportation Partnerships with Boulder-based Via Mobility Services and with support from a Denver Regional Council of Governments grant, the Erie Bee began service April 21.

Similar to the microtransit service that began in late 2024 in Longmont, the Erie Bee provides on-demand shared rides within a defined Erie service zone, real-time trip matching and dynamic routing, and designated pickup and drop-off locations. Most trips are completed in less than 30 minutes.

The service supports a wide range of trips including commuting to work or school, running errands, attending appointments and more. The Erie Bee is available to everyone in the service area, with riders aged 13 and older able to travel independently.

Those wishing to ride the Bee can download an app at erieco.gov/2626/The-Erie-Bee or call 720-303-9511 to make reservations over the phone. Rides can be booked on demand or up to seven days in advance.

Residents can visit the Town of Erie’s booth Saturday at the Erie Town Fair in downtown Erie to get details about the service and see an Erie Bee vehicle in person.Other similar services in the region include Ride Free Lafayette, Broomfield FlexRide, the Denver Connector and Lone Tree Link On-Demand.
