Woodward absorbs Florida manufacturer

FORT COLLINS — Woodward Inc. (Nasdaq: WWD), a Fort Collins company that designs, manufactures and services energy-conversion and control solutions for the aerospace and industrial equipment markets, has inked a deal to acquire Valve Research and Manufacturing Co.

VRM is a Florida-based manufacturer of high-precision flow control valves for aerospace applications.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Woodward said this week that it will add 130 employees as a result of the VRM acquisition. 

“This acquisition is another example of how we are adding critical enablers to best serve our customers and grow our business,” Woodward’s aerospace president Shawn McLevige said in a prepared statement. “In the near term, it provides opportunities to optimize our supply chain and enhance our ability to deliver on robust market demand for our controls solutions.”

The acquisition is expected to close in the first half of this year.
