Intrepid Fiber expands to California

BROOMFIELD — Intrepid Fiber Networks, a Broomfield-based provider of fiber infrastructure, will expand its network to California.

Intrepid plans an initial investment in the cities of Vista and San Marcos in San Diego County, with further expansion plans across the state. The expansion will provide multi-gigabit broadband options to residents, businesses and community institutions.

“This is an exciting and defining moment for Intrepid,” Jack Waters, CEO of Intrepid Fiber Networks, said in a written statement. “California is one of the most important technological hubs in the world, and launching our network here demonstrates our commitment to meeting the state’s demand for innovation and more resilient fiber connectivity. The communities of San Marcos and Vista are ideal partners in helping us advance our mission to deliver open-access fiber infrastructure across the state and the country.”

Intrepid has begun engineering, permitting and construction of the network, with service expected to launch in early 2026.

Intrepid Fiber was founded in 2021 by Brookfield Asset Management.
